Nominate a Great Kid for Youth Awards

A bunch of great kids will soon be in the spotlight during the Yakima Youth Awards ceremony April 7.

Spokesperson Karen Lee says now is the time to nominate that special kid between the ages of 5 and 19.

Lee says she knows kids with good grades and kids in sports always get rewarded but she says, “if someone is helping out at home, taking care of brothers and sisters or doing other things they don’t always get the recognition they deserve.”

The awards are set for 6:30 p.m. at the Yakima Capitol Theatre and admission is free. The deadline for nomination forms is March 22.
