Firefighters continue dousing flames after the fire at Universal Forest Products Pallet factory on North Mitchell Drive near Gleed. Gleed Fire Chief Ken Frazier says firefighters were challenged as soon as they arrived on the scene of the fire at about 10 p.m. Wednesday. "The amount of fuel both finished product and inventory for the finished product and the wind involved made it difficult to fight the fire." Frazier doesn't know where or how the fire started. Fire investigators hope to begin an investigation Thursday afternoon and Friday as they search for a cause of the blaze. Frazier says the business was closed Wednesday night when the fire started. No injuries were reported.
