An autopsy was performed Friday morning on the body of 18-year old Chance Shrewsberry.  His body was pulled from the Roza Canal yesterday after a jogger saw the body floating in the canal near Moxee in the 900 block of Beaudry Road. Yakima County Coroner Jack Hawkins says no foul play is suspected.

"The cause of death was fresh water drowning. He died of asphyxia.  There was no other trauma to Chances body. "

The initial search for Chances body started two weeks ago when employees from the Bureau of Reclamation found evidence that someone had slid down the canal embankment into the water.

The Yakima County Sheriff's office conducted an extensive search of the Roza Canal since the teen was reported missing, but the teen was not found.
