Yakima County Prosecutor Joe Brusic says a Yakima County Sheriff's Deputy will not face charges in connection the injury of a 13-year-old boy who was struck by a patrol car in a hay field in the Harrah area in July.
Sgt. Nate Boyer was investigating a nearby home invasion robbery when he drove into the field while searching for suspects and struck the teenager. Brusic says Boyer was trying to contain a fleeing suspect and accidentally ran over the 13-year-old boy. As a result Brusic says Boyer will not face any charges. The boy has since recovered from his injuries.
