If you live in the city of Yakima your car tabs won't be increasing in cost this year. That's because the Yakima city council on Tuesday voted against raising car tab fees to pay for street and sidewalk work. The council Tuesday voted 4-3 against the proposal. Council members Holly Cousins, Dulce Gutierrez, Carmen Mendez and Bill Lover voted against the measure. The proposed increase would have funded 19 different street and sidewalk projects in the city. The council didn't take any action after the vote so there's no word how the projects will be funded in the future.
