Dan Newhouse, a Republican candidate for Congress revealed an impressive list of supporters today. The former State Agricultural Director , former state lawmaker and Lower Yakima Valley Farmer  is trying to replace the retiring Fourth District Congressman Doc Hastings in Congress.
Among those supporting Newhouse, local state representatives Norm Johnson, Charles Ross and Bruce Chandler, state senators Curtis King and Jim Honeyford, Yakima City Council  members Maureen Atkison, Kathy Coffey and Thomas Dittmar along with Yakima County commissioners Kevin Bouchey and Rand Elliot.

Newhouse unveiled the list at a news conference in Yakima as well as a similar list at  a news conference in Richland earlier today.

Newhouse is considered one of the frontrunners for the office in a crowded field of seven Republicans and 10 candidates overall.

Other  Republican candidates to announce so far include 13th District State Senator Janea' Holmquist Newbry from Moses Lake, Brad Peck, Franklin County commissioner; Kennewick attorney George Cicotte, Clint Didier, former NFL tight end and Eltopia farmer; Gavin Seim, an Ephrata businessman and Jamie Wheeler, an in-home care provider from Kennewick.   Democrats Josh Ramirez of Pasco, who is a project specialist for a Hanford contractor; Gary Downing, a Kennewick artist and photographer; and Tony Williams, a staff member at Wilson Middle School in Yakima.
