kimatv.com

It’s official. Dominic Rizzi, Jr., Yakima’s next police chief, will be officially sworn in during a ceremony on Monday, May 7. The ceremony will begin in the Muster Room at the Yakima Police Department at 10:00 a.m.

Dominic Rizzi, Jr. was chosen by Interim City Manager Michael Morales to lead Central Washington’s largest police department, following a nationwide search. Nearly 30 applicants from across the country applied for the position. In late January, six finalists came to Yakima and underwent a three-day process that included interviews, evaluations, and assessments. Michael Morales then conducted additional background checks and personal visits with three of the finalists before offering the job to Rizzi last month.
