New Wasp Named After Man-Crush Movie Star Brad Pitt
I'm an unapologetic Actor Brad Pitt fan. I'm not down with his politics or world views but I have really enjoyed his movies. Among my favorites - A River Runs Through It, Seven, Meet Joe Black, Fight Club, Legends Of The Fall, Oceans 11,12 & 13, Troy, Money Ball and so many more.
I like his characters, his style, his various looks so yes, his presence in a film could be enough for me to check it out. Apparently I'm not alone in my appreciation of BP.
A newly-discovered species of parasitic wasp has been named after BRAD PITT.
Sci-News.com says the Conobregma bradpitti is a widespread group of wasps that are deep brown with brightly shaded wings. (Sounds like something Paul Maclean from A River Runs Through It might tie to his line in pursuit of a giant Montana trout!)
The Brad Pitt wasp operates by laying eggs inside other insects like moths and butterfly. As a parasite, it eventually causes its host to “mummify” and harden so that new wasps can be born. Hmmmm, now that sounds a little more like Louis de Pointe du Lac from Interview With a Vampire!
He may not have his Oscar just yet, but then Leo DiCaprio doesn't have a wasp named after him! Just tell him to BUZZ OFF Brad!
