New Research: Fight It Out vs Forgive & Forget — Dave’s Diary

Do you bark or wag?  Better to bark according to the experts.  If you want to have a long and happy marriage, let the fur fly.  Recent research reveals there is a greater benefit in the long term in having angry but honest conversations about problems in a relationship than there is in sticking to the old adage “forgive and forget.”Florida State University researchers have found when one half of a couple believes their partner is forgiving, it leads agreeable people to be less likely to offend that partner, and disagreeable people to be more likely to offend that partner.

Scientists say that a show of anger serves an important role in letting a mate know their actions are undesirable.
