The U.S. Postal Service has rejected a proposal to replace the Tieton Post Office's facade with a giant mosaic resembling an historic postage stamp.

The people who proposed the artistic new look for the post office say they're going to keep fighting for their vision.

They're just $1,975 shy of a $48,000 Kickstarter campaign to pay for the mosaic and they plan to appeal to the postal service's vice president of facilities.

The mosaic facade would be created with 41,500 pieces of hand-cut glass tile.

Supporters say the mosaic is meant to honor small-town post offices and celebrate the agricultural community.
