October 7. That's the new deadline for Yakima County Prosecutor Joe Brusic to decide whether whether to seek the death penalty in the case of a Selah man charged in the March 26 shooting deaths of two employees at the Moneytree business in Yakima. Today defense attorneys for Manuel Verduzco asked a judge for another extension of the deadline and were granted the request. Defense attorneys want more time to try and convince Brusic to not seek the death penalty for the killing of two Moneytree employees, Karina Morales-Rodriguez and Marta Martinez.
