The Bins of Light art project is expected to be in place above the Lincoln Avenue underpass by this summer, says Yakima Economic Director Sean Hawkins. He says right now the city is working with the Millennium Arts Foundation to work out an agreement "that they would provide the maintenance of the art so that money wouldn't have to come out of the cities general fund." He says the arts foundation has available some $700,000 that could be used for maintenance of art in the downtown area including maintaining the Bins of Light project. He says the city and the arts foundation hope to come to an agreement soon.  The Yakima City Council last year approved spending $450,000 on the art. The 56 bins above the Lincoln underpass will be lit during the day with sunshine and at night they'll be lit by led lights. They'll represent bins of fruit that are stacked around the Yakima Valley.
