Today is the National Day of Prayer, and events are planned in Yakima. Andy Ferguson, executive director of Transform Yakima Together, says they'll kick off the day with a pastors breakfast and then a day of events at the Modern Living Pavilion at State Fair Park.

And you are invited to lunch today.

"We'll be talking about things going on in the valley and what we can do to improve our valley and work as Christians to do that," says Ferguson, who spoke with News Talk KIT in the video above. "And in the evening at 6:30 p.m. there's a youth rally planned."

The luncheon's theme is "So that the Yakima Valley may know."
Tickets to the noon luncheon are available at the door. A prayer room at the Pavilion is open all day, beginning at 6 a.m.
A number of other unofficial events are happening at schools and churches throughout the valley today to recognize National Day of Prayer.
