Not on the tip of your tongue eh?  Who can blame you. It was coined by William Congreve, in The Mourning Bride, 1697.   But it basically says music is amazing!

From the poet to the proof.

In an experiment, scientists at the University of Utah Pain Research Center measured the effect of music on people while they received painful shocks in their fingertips. The astonishing results: Participants reported decreased pain as they became more absorbed in the music.

Fascinating.
