Multiple Police Departments Investigating Harlan Landing Death

Yakima County Sheriff's Deputies are trying to piece together what happened in the minutes leading up to the beating death of a 54-year-old man near Selah Monday.

Deputies tell KNDO News around 3:00 PM the victim was assaulted at the Harlan Landing Park near the Yakima River south of Selah. The man was transported to the Yakima Regional Medical Center where he died.

The victim had been at the park with a 51-year-old woman before the assault.

The woman called 911 after finding the man down on the ground. Sheriff's deputies and Selah Police officers responded with medical aid units.

The identity of the victim is being withheld until notification of relatives.
