Movies are a great chronicle of our lives. We remember our lives and the time we first saw them. Happy, sad, or poignant, they can have a profound impact on us all. Here are a few of the movies that have made an impact on my life.

  • The Sting - 1973

Although this has to be the greatest buddy picture ever made, the impact it had on me was introducing me to the music of Scott Joplin.

  • Jesus Christ Superstar - 1973

For some reason, this film and the music of Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice reached me the way Sunday school and sermons never did. It put a contemporary face on faith for me.

This Holocaust story from filmmaker Steven Spielberg shocked me with it's accurate portrayal of the evils of Nazi Germany.

  • The Godfather - 1972

This saga of the Corleone family made a definite impact on me. So much so, it's my favorite movie of all time. I drive my family nuts because I will watch it any time it comes on TV.

  • The Enchanted Cottage - 1945

How did this black and white tearjerker from the 40's impact me. It's the best date movie you will ever find. 'Nuff said.
