SEATTLE (AP) — A 36-year-old Spokane woman has been charged with murder in the death of her infant son.

The Seattle Times reports that Tami Christianson was charged Wednesday with second-degree murder in connection with the death of the 15-month-old boy. An autopsy performed on the child found signs consistent with strangulation, but an official cause of death hasn't yet been determined.

Christianson was arrested Saturday at her parents' home near Redmond after the child was found unresponsive in a bedroom.

Court documents say Christianson told responding deputies, "I did what I had to do."

The documents also say her fiancé told authorities last year that Christianson had threatened to kill the baby. He also called her parents last week and expressed concern over her ability to care for the child.
