More Watchdog Work For Representative Dan Newhouse – Dave’s Diary

Representative Dan Newhouse (R-WA) has been assigned to serve on the Subcommittee on Federal Lands and the Subcommittee on Water, Power and Oceans at the House Natural Resources Committee, chaired by Rep. Rob Bishop (R-UT):

Newhouse says:   “As every Washingtonian knows, increasing water storage and accountable public land management are critical issues for farmers, businesses and landowners in our region,” said Rep. Newhouse. “I am grateful to Chairman Bishop, and I could not be more pleased to be assigned to subcommittees with jurisdiction over matters that are vital to economic growth in Central Washington.

I am committed to advocating for an active federal role in implementing integrated water management plans in the Columbia Basin and Yakima Basin as well as safeguarding our dams so that they continue to generate clean, renewable hydroelectricity. I will also demand accountability and transparency from federal land management agencies because land use decisions should be made locally, not by federal bureaucrats. It is Congress’ duty to ensure that public land management promotes economic development, not burdensome regulations and red tape.”
