The next two weekends in the Yakima Valley are a tribute to the wine industry. They come for fun, but if they needed another excuse to drink wine, new research suggests that four to six glasses a week could lessen your risk for osteoarthritis.

The good health news about wine continues to fill the glass and overflow!

Research shows people who drink about a glass per day are 45 percent less likely to develop knee osteoarthritis than those who abstain from alcohol. So raise a glass and toast to deep knee bends!

And for you beer drinkers looking in over the fence — no toast for you. Study participants who drank between eight and 19 glasses of beer per week, actually increased their risk of the disease by 76 percent!
