More Foot Traffic Wanted in Downtown Yakima

Some local business owners say they want improvements to Yakima Downtown so the foot traffic will increase as the area would become more desirable and family-friendly.

KNDO reports the plan is called the "Yakima Downtown Master Plan" and it's goal should be to get more people interested in going downtown, which would help the businesses and the local economy.

Jar Arcand has his own restaurant on the main strip of Yakima Avenue and would like to see an ongoing effort to get more people to the area and teamwork within the community for a united plan.

Arcand knows it will take a lot of money and unity, but combined with a "solid economic development plan in place" and the local effort, the area can be taken to the next level.
