There is about a 95 percent chance that if you listen to KIT you are at least 40 years old.  When you are 40 you are at the peak of your intellectual powers, which is why -- obviously -- you listen to the show!  But get this: Science has found that the 40-plus brain works best when it works part-time. That doesn’t mean you should only listen to a part of the show, but it might mean cutting back a couple of days at work!

Australian researchers say that employees over the age of 40 showed the highest level of brain function when they worked three days per week. The study results showed that cognitive abilities worsened among those who worked more hours, or even fewer hours, per week.

Brain functions were lowest among those who worked 50 to 60 hours per week and in those who didn't work at all. The findings suggest that some work is good for your brain, but too much can be damaging -- at least for middle-aged or older workers.

The report said, "Work can be a double-edged sword. It can stimulate brain activity. But, at the same time, long working hours and certain types of tasks can cause fatigue and stress, which potentially damage cognitive functions." (Quartz)

You are on your own if you choose to attempt to use this information to get a reduced hours work schedule. Oh, and let us know how it goes.
