Yakima Police have arrested a 24-year-old man wanted for an armed robbery early Wednesday afternoon.

Around 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, officers were dispatched to Walgreens on Yakima Avenue in Yakima for an armed robbery. Witnesses at the store told police that a white man came into the store, picked up several items and went to the pharmacy counter. Then the suspect jumped the counter and threatened the employees with a knife.

The suspect stole several prescription medicines and left the store. Luckily no one was injured during the robbery. After the robbery, witnesses said the suspect got into a gray pickup and took off. Witnesses were only able to give police a partial license plate number.

Last night, Wilson was seen driving near the mini-mart at Goodlander and N. Wenas Road in Selah. He did not stop and a chase started.

Wilson led officers to the Yakima Canyon Road on State Route 821. Wilson did not slow down for a corner near milepost 5 and he crashed into a guard rail.

Wilson was taken into custody and transported to a local hospital for minor injuries. The suspect is being held in the Yakima County Jail on a robbery charge.
