Memorial Service Set for State Trooper
EVERETT, Wash. (AP) — The Washington State Patrol says a public memorial service is planned Thursday in Everett, Wash., for a state trooper killed in a traffic accident.
The service honoring 38-year-old Trooper Sean O'Connell is scheduled for 1 p.m. at Comcast Arena.
O'Connell died Friday night after his motorcycle collided with a box truck. He had been working traffic control related to a detour established after the collapse of a section of the Interstate 5 bridge over the Skagit River.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
O'Connell had been with the patrol for 16 years.
As many as 150 police cruisers participated in a motorcade that honored him Sunday.
