The weather outside may not lend itself to thinking about getting ready for parades, but those who honor the people who fought and died for our country are starting to plan for the annual Memorial Day Parade.

The parade will take part on Saturday, May 24, two days prior to the observance of Memorial Day.

The event kicks off at 10:00 a.m. but those who want to be in the parade will start lining up at 8:30. The staging area will take place on 6th Ave between Yakima Ave and Walnut St. There are other rules regarding vehicles and use of the American Flag.

The parade's goal is to honor those who paid the ultimate price for this nation according to a release by organizer Ed Falter.

For those interested in participating, they can contact Falter at 966-0760.
