Turkey, schmurkey. We all should be eating an egg for Thanksgiving! The Daily Mail reports that a study, led by US scientists, found that eating one egg per day can reduce risk of stroke by 12%.

The study also shows that eating one egg per day has no association with coronary heart disease (the leading cause of death worldwide).

Researchers say eggs have many positive nutritional attributes, including antioxidants, which have been shown to reduce oxidative stress and inflammation. They are also an excellent source of protein, which has been related to lower blood pressure.

We used to think eating eggs was a heart risk but this kind of study suggests a possible beneficial effect of eating eggs on the risk of stroke. (Daily Mail)
