co-worker & best friend, Micah Cawley’s last day at Town Square Media is today and it’s a great day. We have had so many fun times, worked on so many important community projects, enjoyed sharing so much creativity and positive energy and community spirit. It has been a great 15 year run.

Monday he starts a new career with John I Haas, the giant hops company, and I wish him the very best. Not that he’ll need my good-luck vibes because he is going to crush the hops industry on his own talent and personality and in the process create an exciting new life with his fantastic wife Kristina.

We first met when he was just a teenager starting out in radio doing crazy stunts for country music radio and there really wasn’t much that he wouldn’t do to help promote his station. Eventually he went from stunt boy to middays to morning show and along the way creating thousands of fans and friends both in Central Washington and in the Country Music industry.

Micah is a unique individual. Friendly, open, genuine, awkward and charming at the same time, people are drawn to his sincerity and good humor. John I Hass is lucky to have him. Sure we will miss him around the radio group but we are so happy for such a deserving young man’s new opportunity that we can’t see today as anything but the start of something big for Micah. Yes, we’ll miss him but I’ll have a semi-regular opportunity to school him in cards as we share a beverage (with hops?) and a laugh or two on a Friday night.

Today is a great day for a great guy—with many more great days to come. Good Luck Micah, we’ll see you soon for Shanghai Rummy, and yes, winner that you are, will lose...again!.
