The scheduled game between the Seattle Mariners and New York Yankees was postponed because of rain.

No makeup date was immediately announced Wednesday. The Mariners say the teams will play their regularly scheduled game Thursday night at Yankee Stadium.

Roenis Elias was the scheduled starter for Seattle. David Phelps had been slated to pitch Wednesday night for the Yankees in place of suspended Michael Pineda.

Meanwhile the Mariners and Yankees are scheduled to play today at Yankee Stadium.

The forecast for today is better, although there is still a chance for rain. The Yankees will skip David Phelps, who was scheduled to start today, and keep Hiroki Kuroda on his regular turn Thursday. The Mariners will push Roenis Elias to Thursday and Felix Hernandez will pitch Friday in Houston. There is no word as of yet who will start Saturday.
