Yakima Police are investigating an attempted robbery that sent one man to the hospital ON Wednesday. Police say around 10:40 Wednesday morning, they were dispatched to the 1500 block of Garfield Avenue for a reported stabbing victim. When police arrived, they found a 50-year-old Hispanic man with several stab wounds to the chest and hands, laying in a yard. The victim told officers that he had been confronted in the south alley, 1500 Roosevelt Avenue, by two Hispanic men and one white man. One of the Hispanic men had a knife and demanded money from the victim. When the victim refused to give up his money, the suspect stabbed the victim several times. All three suspects fled on foot and the victim walked to Garfield Avenue, where he asked a citizen for help.

The victim was taken to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Police say all three suspects are in their early 20's. The suspect armed with a knife was about 5'10'', medium build, and had tattoos on his face and neck.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Yakima Police Department at (509) 575-6200.
