Yakima Police say a 48-year-old man was shot during an argument in the 1500 block of Landon Avenue Thursday.

Police were called at about 8:00 p.m. When they arrived at the scene the shooter was gone and a 48-year-old man was suffering from a gunshot wound to his upper right arm.

Witnesses at the scene were able to identify the suspect and provide a possible location for him. Police later found the 22-year-old suspect and arrested him on an assault charge.

During the initial investigation, the victim told police that he briefly argued with the suspect and that during the argument, the suspect pulled out a handgun. The suspect then shot the victim once, striking the victim in the upper right arm. The victim was treated at a local hospital and released.

The investigation into this incident continues. No names have been released at this time.
