Ronald Brooker from Naches died Monday at Sacred Heart Medical Center in Spokane after being struck by a car while helping to push a disabled vehicle on Highway 12.

The accident took place three miles east of Naches on Saturday.

Samantha Owens, a 26-year-old of Tieton faces charges of vehicular assault and driving with a suspended license. The charges that could change now with the death of Brooker.

Owens posted bail and was released from jail on Monday.

A man who was helping to push a disabled vehicle along Highway 12 about three miles east of Naches on Saturday was struck and is listed in critical condition at a Spokane hospital.

Washington State Patrol troopers say 42-year-old Ronald Brooker was hit at about 3:50 p.m. while helping to push a Chevrolet Tahoe that had broken down near Locust Lane. Both he and the vehicle he was pushing were hit by a 1998 Chevrolet Monte Carlo driven by 26-year-old Samantha Owens of Tieton. She was treated at a Yakima hospital and released.

Troopers are investigating to find out what caused the crash.
