Man Held On Murder Charge Killed In Yakima County Jail

A man arrested in a fatal shooting in Yakima is dead and five inmates serving time with him in the Yakima County Jail are suspects after a fatal beating inside the Yakima County Jail late Sunday night.  According to the Yakima County Department of Corrections and the Yakima County Sheriff's Office 36-year-old Jacob Ozuna died at Virginia Mason Memorial hospital early Monday morning. Detectives say Ozuna, who was charged with the May 10 fatal shooting of 35-year-old Dario Alvarado at a home in Wapato was beaten by inmates from the lower Yakima Valley. They say the beating was gang related. It remains under investigation today.
