• Yakima Police say a 54-year-old man suffered a serious head injury after an assault at a Yakima apartment late Monday night.

    Capt. Rod Light says the unidentified victim was assaulted in a bedroom of the apartment in the 200 block of South 4th Street.

    “Two men with in the bedroom with the victim when something happened and the victim suffered a severe head injury the two suspects ran from the apartment”

    Police are searching for the suspects today. The victim is being treated for a severe head wound and numerous cuts and bruises at a Yakima hospital.

  • A 52-year-old former Selah Jr. High School teacher was in a Yakima County Superior Courtroom on Tuesday where he was arraigned on voyeurism charges.

    According to an article in today's Yakima Herald Republic, David McMillen resigned from the district two years ago after a student reported the discovery of video camera under a student desk.

    McMillen was charged with one count of voyeurism, two counts of attempted voyeurism and one count of tampering with evidence. He was released on his own recognizance.

    No word on when his trial will start.
