SEATTLE (AP) — Police say they've arrested a 37-year-old man for allegedly making threats online against a Seattle mosque.

The Seattle Police Department said in a statement the man was arrested Tuesday on the 11700 block of Greenwood Avenue North.

Police say the man posted threats online earlier in the day and in one post claimed to have purchased an assault rifle and extra ammunition.

Law enforcement agencies including a SWAT team with negotiators say they arrested the man after a short standoff at his home.

Investigators say the suspect, who has not been identified, has been previously contacted by police who were investigating harassment and threats to another mosque.

Seattle police and the FBI are investigating.
