Yakima County Sheriff's deputies arrested a 29-year-old man for eluding officers in a stolen vehicle after they tried to stop the driver for a traffic violation just after midnight Tuesday. The deputies tried to stop the vehicle near Branch Road and S. Wapato Road but the suspect fled.  The stolen vehicle finally came to a stop in the 1000 blk of Progressive Rd.  As the first deputy was attempting to exit his vehicle the suspect, a 29 year old Yakima resident who was currently on pre-trial release for a similar offense, rammed the marked Yakima County patrol vehicle at a high rate of speed. After the crash deputies were able to arrest the suspect as he tried to bite the deputies. The patrol vehicle was damaged but no injuries were reported. The 29-year-old suspect is being held on numerous charges in the Yakima County jail.
