You no doubt have heard of all those dating apps that promise to match you up with the perfect partner based on a list mutual likes. I know of several marriages and long term relationships that sprang from those sites. (including my mother-in-law) I’ve never been on one because I roll the old fashion way and found my wife by simple stalking.  While millions check them out every day, there is an alternative brewing.   A new app is looking to unite people on the grounds of things they both hate. Interesting.

It's called Hater and the way it works is that users view a number of images of things like cilantro and politicians, to form a profile of your dislikes. Then you swipe through the profiles of those who disliked the same things. You know, negative great minds think alike!

Brendan Alper is the CEO of Hater and he says, "We want people to express themselves more honestly. Plus, it’s easy to start a conversation with someone if you know you both hate pickles." (Refinery 29)
