You love your city parks and you want more pathways and improvements at Yakima parks. That's the takeaway of a major city parks survey conducted in 2016. Parks and Recreation Director Ken Wilkenson says they'll be doing a lot of work in city parks in 2017 including the ongoing work at Randall park on South 48th Avenue. He says both parking lots will be replaced this year. And he says "we're going to do some work to the pond making it deeper and improving the water quality."  Wilkenson says the pathways at the park are set to be replaced in 2018. He says other major work includes new bathrooms at Gardner Park at Cornell and Pierce Avenues and a new playground at Cherry Park on North 4th Avenue.
