The first speech of opening night at the Republican National Convention raised the roof and belonged to former Navy Seal Marcus Luttrell. Luttrell’s personal story was made into the book and motion picture "Lone Survivor."

Luttrell went off script to speak from the heart, a giant of a man with a giant heart for America. In keeping with the night’s theme, “Make America Safe Again,” he urged the country to support its returning veterans. He called on the next generation of Americans to have their giants and warriors stand up and love country greater than self. He also called for the support in equipment, training and technology to insure America remains the world’s elite military.

Join us Tuesday morning at 7:15 for the Morning News when our guest will be 18-year-old Yakima native Jack Pickett. He’s one of the youngest delegates to attend the national convention and we'll get his reaction to the speeches, the anti-Trump squabbles, the protest demonstrations and the future of the convention, the party and the country.
