The most common New Year's resolution is to lose weight and get in shape but it's not as easy for women to succeed.  A new study of 1,850 adults reported in the Daily Mail reveals that men lose weight faster and find it easier to keep off than women do.

The most common method men chose to lose weight was old fashioned diet and exercise. Women were more likely to give up booze, and were more likely to consume more veggies and fruits than men were.

Despite being worse at losing weight, women did excel in one area over men—they tend to set more realistic weight-loss targets. Unfortunately, they often lack the willpower to stick to their planned diet schedule, an area where men excel.

At the same time the American College Sports Medicine polled fitness pros across the world to determine what the biggest workout trend will be for 2015.

They found bodyweight training will take the top spot, beating out high-intensity interval training.  Bodyweight is popular because it's so cheap, requires no equipment and includes basic moves like squats, lunges, pushups and planks.

Researchers note bodywight training has only become a “defined trend” during the last few years. High-intensity interval training came in second place, followed by strength training and personal training. (Yahoo)
