Look Good, Earn MORE, Want to Keep It – BINGO – You’re A Conservative

First thing you have to do to buy into this story is come to an agreement about the definition of “Beauty”.  Once we agree on that we can agree that a higher level of attractiveness can get you pretty far in life. And IF we can agree on THAT, then maybe this new study just might make sense to you.

Here we go--a new study suggests people find right-wing politicians more attractive than left-wing politicians. Hold your fire lefties. Check your ego righties.  Here’s the explanation.

A group of international researchers showed participants pictures of political candidates from Finland, the U.S. and Australia and asked them to rate each person on attractiveness. The results: respondents found right-wing politicians more attractive than those from the left.  They blinded us with Science!

Study leaders say because beautiful people earn more, that makes them less likely to want to support redistribution. Researchers say voters use beauty as a cue for conservatism when they do not know much about candidates.  Another conclusion is that politicians on the right benefit more from beauty in the opinion of so called low-information voters.
