Longer Rock Blasting Closures Possible Next Week on Snoqualmie Pass

Washington State Department of Transportation crews will be blasting in a similar location on Interstate 90 east of Snoqualmie Pass that caused a three hour closure just a couple of weeks ago.

WSDOT and contractor crews will close I-90 at 8 p.m. Monday, July 14. There is a potential this blast could exceed an hour due to the location and debris that could be produced. During the extended closure, eastbound drivers will be stopped at Gold Creek (milepost 56) and westbound drivers will be stopped near Easton (milepost 70).

Crews will close the pass at 8 p.m. for about an hour each night Tuesday, July 15 through Thursday, July 17 for more rock blasting. Eastbound traffic will be stopped at Gold Creek (milepost 56) and westbound traffic will be stopped at Price Creek (milepost 61).

Intermittent rolling slowdowns are planned Monday through Friday during the day three miles east of the Snoqualmie Pass Summit around Keechelus Lake.
