The City of Yakima has a great parks system, and strives to maintain them so that people can enjoy them. However money is tight, so it's tough to find funds to add improvements.

Local service clubs are actively involved in paying for improvements and upgrades in Yakima's parks.

Sunrise Rotary will be paying $200,000 to cover the cost of a brand new performing arts pavilion at Franklin Park.

Yakima Parks and Recreation manager Ken Wilkinson and Sunrise Rotary President Sheri Brockway were guests on Monday's Mike Bastinelli Show to talk about this project and others like it.
