An anti-bullying rally will be held at Yakima's Hoover Elementary School on Saturday.

Spokesperson Shelley McWain's grandkids attend the school and have been victims of bullying so she decided to get involved and now she is the state leader of the Bully Project. The Bully Project is a social action campaign inspired by the award-winning film Bully that's sparked a national movement to stop bullying.

McWain tells KIT News, “We want to raise awareness on how important it is for adults in kids lives to pay attention and to help teach them to be kind and to embrace differences.”

Both kids and adults are invited to the rally at Hoover Elementary at 400 West Viola Avenue. There will be games and activities for kids and parents and a peace parade around the Hoover neighborhood.

The free event will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
