How’s your health? Feeling good? What about your age? You think you can go the distance and cash the check?  I ask because  multi-millionaire Dimitry Kaminskiy has promised to award the first human to live to 123 a prize of $1 million. He is very passionate about the concept of people living longer and longer. The average lifespan in the US has reached an all-time high of 79 years.  Which seems odd since the Daily Mail is reporting that 60 is the new middle age!

Scientists say that since we're living longer we should rethink what age counts as being "old." In other words, we should wait until we are within 10 to 15 years of average life expectancy to slap the "old" label on ourselves.

Lead researcher, Dr. Sergei Scherbov says, "What we think of as old has changed over time and it will need to continue changing in the future, as people live longer, healthier lives. Someone who is 60 years old today, I would argue is middle-aged. Two hundred years ago, a 60-year-old would be a very old person." He notes that all sorts of economic calculations, including healthcare costs and pension age, are determined by when people are considered "old." (Daily Mail)
