The lease has been signed , and it's official,baseball will be played at Yakima County Stadium next year. Pacific Baseball Ventures and State Fair Park signed a  three year lease with an option for more years.  State Fair Park General Manager Greg Stewart says they've been working on the lease for almost two years.  "We are excited to welcome baseball back to State Fair Park, back to the Yakima Valley.  We think its going to a win win for everybody."The team will be owned by Pacific Baseball Ventures. P.B.V. Chief Operating Officer Zachary Fraser says this will be Yakima's team. "This really does becomes a community product. It's not mandated or handed down from a major league affiliate. It's build from the ground up with local input."

A contest will be held to name the team. The five finalist for the name of the team are..
Pippins, Cascaders, Sun Rays, Short Hops and Red Tails.
Fans will pick the team by going online to Yakimabaseball.com. The voting will start later
this week. The team begins play at Yakima County Stadium  next June.  The team will play in the Western Baseball League, which  features collegiate players.
