LAS VEGAS (AP) — There has been a lot of scrutiny given lately to daily fantasy sports sites like DraftKings and FanDuel. But what about the fantasy sports sites online that last an entire season — like those operated by CBS Sports and Yahoo Sports? Those also make a profit and pay cash prizes. Action taken in Nevada has affected those sites, also — now that lawmakers have decided the daily sites are gambling. The decision has caused Yahoo to pull out of Nevada out of caution that their paid season-long games might fall under the state opinion. Nevada concluded on Oct. 15 that daily fantasy sites are akin to sports pools, broadly defined as accepting wagers on sporting events. Fantasy sports sites, both daily and season-long, have argued they aren't gambling.
