Friday is America Recycles Day and the coordinator of the Yakima County Solid Waste program is welcoming Jim Evanoff, the environmental specialist at Yellowstone National Park. He will speak about how the park has implemented a recycling program that has made a significant difference in the park. Jim Evanoff is also the keynote speaker at the youth environmental summit, to be held earlier in the day. The summit, also sponsored by Yakima County Solid Waste, is open to school groups in Yakima County from grades six through twelve.

Guests will learn information about recycling, composting, and hazardous waste. The event will be held at the Yakima Convention Center Friday, Nov.16, 2012. Evanoff will speak at 6:30 p.m. and is free.
