My radio show partner Lance Tormey has been on the job at KIT for 28 years!  By every measure he is a “local celebrity.”

KIT had a pretty good 2016 and so did Lance but given all the big name celebrity deaths, many people claim 2016 was a bad year to be a celeb.  A mathematician decided to check those claims and has confirmed that in 2016 there were more celebrity deaths than usual.

Jason Crease, a Cambridge, England-based data analyst did the mathematical heavy lifting. Crease ranked celebrities and then analyzed the most prominent deaths between 2000 and 2016. He determined that 25 very-famous celebrities died in 2016, and that statistically, this should only happen once every 200 years!

Weird huh?

By the way, Lance says he’s feeling just fine! (Daily Mail)
