• Nearly 100 groups representing farmers, ranchers, consumers and other rural and small town interests have written members of the Farm Bill Conference Committee urging them to protect the country of origin labeling law when they finalize the 2014 Farm Bill.

    According to the letter the final COOL rules provide clear information to consumers that balances the cost of implementation and are in line with the World Trade Organization’s Appellate Body report.

  • As lawmakers, ethanol industry groups and ethanol supporters are asking the Environmental Protection Agency to reconsider proposed 2014 Renewable Volume Obligations for the Renewable Fuel Standard, the agency has reportedly told the oil industry it will reconsider the 2013 target for cellulosic biofuels.

    The American Fuel and Petrochemical Manufacturers and the American Petroleum Institute had petitioned the EPA in October to reconsider the cellulosic component of the Renewable Fuel Standard.
