Knowledge is power and knowing you have power is confidence boosting which is critical in some circumstances – like caring for an infant!  Taking care of a baby can be intimidating, but being equipped with the skills and knowledge to handle an emergency can help.

Parents and caregivers of infants can gain confidence to handle stressful and potentially dangerous situations by learning how to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation, or CPR.

Yakima Valley Memorial Hospital is offering an infant CPR class on Sept. 16 from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Memorial Education Center, 2506 W. Nob Hill Blvd., Yakima. No registration is needed. The cost is $5.00 per person, payable at the start of class or by pre-paying online at yakimamemorial.org.

This is not a certification class. But knowing how to respond in the first few minutes of an emergency – before professional help arrives – can mean the difference between life and death. If you are the parent or caregiver of an infant, learn infant CPR!
