Fire officials in King County say fireworks calls quadrupled this Independence Day, when compared to last year.

KING-TV reports fireworks remain legal in only 16 municipalities in King County.

Even in restricted areas, however, King County fireworks-related fire calls totaled 200 during the July 4th holiday night.

Last year, that number was 45. Fire officials attribute the increase to dry weather and the holiday falling on a Friday.

Fireworks damaged at least three homes in the county.
